The City of Canton Public Works Department will be installing a "Drive Slowly - Children at Play" sign in this area. If you would like to request a 10 MPH speed limit sign, it would first have to go through City Council for review and approval. FYI - Police can only enforce speed limits using speed detection on roadways that are approved by Georgia Department of Transportation and the Georgia Department of Public Safety. In order for that to happen, there would have to be an official speed study conducted and the topography of the roadway cannot be greater that a 7% grade with enough sight distance for Officers to be able to detect speed if initially approved by the state. Hopefully the "Drive Slowly" sign will help in this matter.
